Saying 27
- (27) <Jesus said,> "If you do not fast as regards the world, you will not find the kingdom. If you do not observe the Sabbath as a Sabbath, you will not see the father."
The kingdom of heaven is teaching, as we have seen before. It is a teaching that the flesh is the source of original sin. Instinctive living, without considering what God has said declares that we are a god capable of doing what we think is right. We must fast from this in order to understand the teaching of the kingdom which begins with acknowledging God as God, and grows as we enter into a more intimate relationship.
The word שבת Shabot or Sabbath when interpreted by way of hieroglyphics is ש the Spirit ב come in, and the ת tov makes the previous an object.
Thomas says if the Spirit does not come into you, you will not see the Father. (Ac 19:2)
