Why Don't they want us to read it?
Who do you think wouldn't want you to know God?
In the time of Jesus there were people who didn't want others to know God.
- Mt 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Some people teach that the kingdom of heaven isn't here yet, and sometime in the future you may enter in. But Jesus was talking to them like the kingdom of heaven was right there and the scribes and Pharisees were blocking people from entering.
It would be a mean trick if someone brought you to the theater and then told you it was closed when it was really open. You would be standing right there seeing others go in, and they would block the door to you so you couldn't. People today will tell you you can't enter the kingdom of heaven because it doesn't open till next week or next year or until you die.
Some will tell you that there is no kingdom of heaven; that it is pretend like Narnia or Hogwarts. But John the Baptist knew it was right here:
- Mt 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Jesus also said it was right here:
- Mt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
The kingdom of heaven is teaching. It was right there in front of everyone as Jesus taught things they had never heard before. But some didn't want Jesus to teach because they would lose power over the people.
When you know what Jesus teaches, it set you free from being controlled by others. It sets your free from the influence of the evil one. And it sets you free to allow you to love others the way Jesus did.
You can enter into the kingdom of heaven by learning what Jesus taught. Learning the language of God will help know what God said. After you know him then you can choose to believe him and understand him.
- Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
