The disciples did not understand what Jesus taught
Mt 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
Mr 4:34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
Joh 10:6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
Mr 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all [these] things are done in parables: Mr 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and [their] sins should be forgiven them.
Mt 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? Mt 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Mt 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Mt 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. Mt 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Joh 16:25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
Mr 8:21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
Lu 9:44 Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. Lu 9:45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.
Lu 18:31 ¶ Then he took [unto him] the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. Lu 18:34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
