They are the same letter because they are one. <ref>[[Joh 10:30]] I and [my] Father are one.</ref> The 'vav' [[ו]] represents the Spirit who hovers over the face of the waters <ref>[[Ge 1:2]] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.</ref> The upper waters represent the Father and his plan for creation [[מי]] and the lower waters represent the Son and his finishing of creation [[ים]].
