He dwelt in darkness. The word 'darkness' ''khaw-sak'' [[חשך]] means 'restrained, reserved, hide, obscure, conceal'. It is a symbol of love. If you are in sin, and not getting hit by lightning, you are receiving the grace, love, patience, long-suffering of God. He is restraining himself from destroying you. Jesus said to stop presuming upon the grace of God and be Holy.<ref>[[Joh 8:12]] ¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.</ref>
