Four as two
The ד dalet has a value 4 and its name has a value of 2. The ד represents a declaration, or the word. The word is spoken through four voices: prophets, priests kings and judges. When there are two things, there is one thing which is spiritual and one which is physical. Four is two sets of two. Use S-spiritual and E-earthly. There are two voices which are pure: the king is EE and speaks of earthly things in plain language. The priest is SS and speaks of heavenly things in a hidden language. The judge and prophet are mixtures SE and ES. The prophet hides prophecies of Jesus in the childish riddles, while the judge speaks of God's opinion of what takes place in the events recorded in the voice of the king. All the laws against mixing relate to these four voices. He has made us to be kings and priests. We are kings when we rule the flesh, and priests when we intercede for others, placing them first. We are not made to be prophets, since prophecy has been fulfilled (Joh 19.30) and we are commanded not to judge. (Mt 7.1) These voices are mixtures of Spiritual and Earthly things, and Christ alone reconciles heaven and earth, holiness and grace, spirit and flesh.
