Saying 31

(31) Jesus said, "No prophet is accepted in his own village; no physician heals those who know him."

The first half is plain teaching:

Lu 4:24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

The second half is the riddle. The word ידע yada means 'to know'. It is used to speak of the intimate relationship between a man and his wife. It also means 'to teach'.

Adam taught his wife and she concieved... Jesus taught his disciples and they became new life. Jesus said to many "I never knew (taught) you, depart from me" .

One who is known by the great physician (Christ) (Isa 53:5 ), is already a new life, and is not in need of healing.
