:[[GE 1:14-19]] The sun (which separates night and day) wasn't created until the fourth day.
When God created the heavens and the earth in seven days, he says he also did it in a single day. <ref>[[Ge 2:4]] ΒΆ These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,</ref> How can this be? Let's believe it to be true and surmise some solutions:
:1. There was no time. We cannot imagine a timelessness, but presumably one day and seven days exist in the same instant. It is then ludicrous to place time-dependent conclusions on a timeless condition.
:Christ must return like a thief in eh night, and when he comes all men must see him. The suggestion of timelessness also reconciles these requirements. When we die, we leave time at different times, but arrive in eternity/timelessness at the same moment. From the vantage point of earth, he came as a thief, taking us one at a time. From the vantage point of eternity, we all arrived simultaneously.
