Ge 1:1 ¶ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The first verse is a summary of the whole Bible. It is the purpose of God that he is the creator of all. But there is only one 'all' and it has two parts; the heavens and the earth. The pair 'heavens and earth' is used more than 30 times in scripture and it defines the number 2. Any pair of things will have a heavenly or spiritual side and an earthly or physical side.
