It is written in the prophets

Mark reference more than one prophet and merges their prophecies as though they were one. This troubles some, but get used to it. He understands that God is the sole author and that all the prophecies speak of Christ. They can be merged like transparencies laid on top of each other, where each has only a part of the picture.

I will send 07971 שלח shalach

Mal 3:1 ¶ Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

By formation, 'I will send' shalach שלח is 'bush שח of teaching ל'. It is first used in Ge 3 but not defined as a metaphor until Moses met God at the burning bush. (Ex 3) This is the style of God from the beginning when he defines the metaphor for heaven שמים as the spirit ש hovering over the face of the waters מים, after it was already used.

Ge 37:13 And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed [the flock] in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here [am I].

Ex 3:10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Isa 40:3 ¶ The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
