Genesis 38 Timnath
Judah met Tamar before Timnath ("the appointment"). God met Mary before the appointed time of Christ.
If we use the allegorical method we might not be sure of what the appointed time is. Is it the time of Christ's birth, the beginning of his ministry or his death?
The scripture speaks for itself. We have no opinion on the subject except what scripture says:
- Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
The appointed time of Christ is the time of his death. It was such an important appointment that:
- Mt 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
Jesus was rushed to the cross to meet his appointed time. Had he missed it, no flesh at any time, would have been saved.
