Chapter 1.1.14 Hei ה

Primary metaphor

The hei ה represents the spoken work of God which is heard but not understood. It is the same as 'the blind' since 'seeing' is a metaphor for understanding. The sheep hear but do not understand. [1]

The first hei is in Elohim אלהים

Elohim is translated as 'God'. One of the embedded meanings is 'God el אל separated from his people im ים <ref>ים water by their blindness ה'. His people do not understand him. His sheep hear his voice but don't understand the words which are taught.
