Chapter 1.1.19 Tet ט

Primary metaphor

The Son of God and his bride are joined on earth. This symbolizes the marriage of the Lamb on earth. [1] The marriage is itself a metaphor for Christ dwelling with in us (the church, his bride) [2]. In this marriage, the man and his bride are fruitful [3] and multiply [4].

Since the man and his bride are made to be one flesh [5] the condition of each flesh is merged. The righteous flesh of Christ is merged with the sinful flesh of his bride. [6]
