⚫ Paul [1] defines the scope of his teaching as being the Old Testament. He will make the appeal from the Old Testament that Jesus is the Son of God, the promised messiah. As with the rest of the NT, we approach this book as though it was originally written in Hebrew for Jews who spoke Hebrew, but then was translated into Greek so that the Greek churches knew what was being taught in the Jewish churches.
