WLC - Answer 17 (Bob)

WLC - Answer 17 (Bob) The man was formed from the dust of the earth, and the woman from his side, as an allegory of the church being taken from the side of Christ in his death. The man symbolized Christ as the express image of God, and the woman represented the church being made in the likeness of the man. Together they are the 'image and likeness' of God. They were ignorant and in need of learning of the Holiness of God, yet were covered by his love throughout the learning process.
