God said that we should not makes images of him. ^[1] If we form something or cut something, it is made of our hands and cannot represent God. ^[2]

It is untouched, or unspoiled by man.

The idea of man spoiling

1. ↑ Ex 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth:
2. ↑ Ex 20:25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
