He 1:1
Bible->NT->Book of the Holy Ghost->Hebrews->He 1:1
He 1:1
⚫ He 1:1¶ God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
⚫ Paul [1] defines the scope of his teaching as being the Old Testament. He will make the appeal from the Old Testament that Jesus is the Son of God; the promised messiah. As with the rest of the NT, we approach this book as though it was originally written in Hebrew for Jews who spoke Hebrew, but then was translated into Greek so that the Greek churches knew what was being taught in the Jewish churches.
Who were the prophets? The prophet is the teaching intermediary between God and man. Any person who receives a messages from God in any form, and passes it to another, is a prophet.
