Hebrew version of Matthew 1.3

יהודה Judah

Look very closely at these two words:

יהודה - Judah
יהוה - Yahweh

Judah is the name Yahweh with a dalet ד representing a spoken word in it. Literally it means praised, but the hg suggest that it is Yahweh who is praised. It may even be suggestive that the life of Judah is a prophecy (word) concerning Yahweh. In fact, the story of Tamar in Genesis 38 is a picture of the birth of Christ with Judah playing the role of the Father and Tamar as Mary.

This sort of word play is evident in the name of Yeshua.

פרץ and זרח Pharez and Zarah

פרץ Pharez - breaking forth
זרח Zarah - dawning

Together Pharez and Zarah are the 'breaking forth of the dawning'. Jesus was called 'Dayspring'.

Lu 1:78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

As twins they represent the dual nature of Christ as both God and man.

תמר Tamar

תמר Tamar - palm-tree.
תמ tm - come to the end of
ר r - revelation

The story of Tamar is a prophecy of the birth of Christ and the cross, wherein all prophecy is fulfilled. It is the end of revelation.

But look again at her name when the 'from' is added as a prefix:

מתמר from Tamar
מת mt - dead
מר mr - bitter, myrrh

Tamar received the rod of Judah as a token of the promised goat. Mary was told that the power of God would over-shadow her as a token of the promised child who would be the scape-goat. The rod suggests that he power of God which over shadowed Mary was his power in discipline. As such, the prophecy of Christ's bitter death overshadowed Mary. She was reminded of it by the gift of Myrrh at his birth and it was brought to a painful conclusion as she took the myrrh to the tomb of her son.
