Spoke with authority

When the religious rulers taught, they quoted the teaching of their teachers. They debated each other, one school against the other, ever increasing the tomes of religious opinion concerning the scripture. When Jesus taught, he taught with authority [1] <ref>Mr 1:22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
  1. ↑ Mt 7:29 For he taught them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes.
