Chapter 1.1.12 Bet ב

Primary metaphor

The Word of God revealed to man. As a prefix it means in because the Word of God has come into the world. It is the first letter of the alphabet, and as a prefix to reshit ראשית beginning is translated in. It could just as well be seen as the title to the book of Genesis A revelation to man and is read as such when the word is read 'by the letters'. [1]

Bet as revelation to man

Father אב

Father ab is first recognized in Ge 1:1 with the invisible aleph and the bet as the first visible letter of the Bible. It suggests that from the beginning, no one has ever seen God. [2]

By the letters, father ab is God created the heavens and the earth א and revealed himself to man ב. This is the Father; the creator, the one and only God, the one who wants to be known by his creatures. It is NOT a baby name for God suggesting intimacy other than a one-sided intimacy from God to his own. It is the foundation of revelation. Every man knows this principle since it is embedded in his very being. [3]
