Chapter 1.1.14 Hei ה

Primary metaphor

The hei ה represents the spoken work of God which is heard but not understood. It is the same as 'the blind' since 'seeing' is a metaphor for understanding. The sheep hear but do not understand. [1]

The first hei is in Elohim אלהים

Elohim is translated as 'God'. One of the embedded meanings is 'God el אל separated from his people im ים by their blindness ה'. His people do not understand him. His sheep hear his voice but don't understand the words which are taught.
