Primary metaphor
The nun נ represents the Son of Man. It looks similar to the kaf כ representing the Son of God, but has shorter horizontals. Jesus is both the Son of Man and Son of God. They are titles which express different aspects of his nature.
Jesus was fully God and fully man. The longer horizontals of the kaf כ express this. But Jesus 'emptied' himself of his divine nature. The kenosis does not express that he ceased to be God, but that he 'closed his eyes' to his divine nature, choosing not to use his omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence. Just as we do not become blind when we close our eyes, he did not cease to be God. The nun נ has a shorter upper horizontal than the kaf כ to represent this self-limitation.
Also, Jesus did not take advantage of all the things that men do. He did not marry, have children, have a career, etc. He limited himself in the flesh as well. This is represented by the shorter lower horizontal.
Though we say that the nun נ represents the Son of Man, the Jews use it as a symbol for the Messiah.
Face pani פני
Pani Is first used in Ge 1:2 for face. [1] It means before (as in front of), face, presence, and countenance. It is that thing which is seen and is representative of the whole which is not seen. As a metaphor, it is reputation.
By the letters pani פני is "The riddle" pei פ "of the Son of Man" nun נ "as the new creation" yod י. This speaks of the mystery which has been hidden from the beginning. [2] The face of God IS the Son of Man. No man has even seen the father. [3] But it is the son who makes him known. Jesus is the firstfruits of creation, [4]
Second sheniy שני
'Sheniy' שני means both 'second' and 'scarlet'. When Zarah breached first a scarlet thread was tied on his hand. [5] The first son though verbally was declared to be the first son, the scarlet thread declared him to be second. [6]
