Ark of the Covenant

The תבה ark (h. the living response expressed by having something inside) is an expression of the Container of the promise motif

The covenant is a promise of life just as the seed inside the fruit is the promise of life.

The first mention of the Container of the promise motif is Genesis 1:11:

Ge 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. {grass: Heb. tender grass}
