How is it that Israel, who has seen many miracles from God, continually were chasing after false gods? They forgot the Lord. .

Perhaps Adam saw the lone eagle on high, looking down on all and thought to himself, "That bird thinks he is a god".

The eagle represents those who forget God.

eagle nesher נשׁר - forget נש the revelation ר.

Jud 3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

Ps 78:11 And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.

Ps 106:21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
