Saying 37

(37) His disciples said, "When will you become revealed to us and when shall we see you?"

Jesus said, "When you disrobe without being ashamed and take up your garments and place them under your feet like little children and tread on them, then will you see the son of the living one, and you will not be afraid"

Garments are always works.

When you count all your righteousness (good works) as filthy rags, when you are ready to meet God with all your flesh exposed, your sins revealed, then you will meet him without fear.

Those who come dressed in garments of their own making will approach in fear; never sure if their works have covered their sin.

Ge 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Ge 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself.
