Joh 1:1 -

Joh 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Ge 1:1 ¶ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

In the beginning was the Word

Using Eliezer's Rule of transference, whenever God created he spoke words to effect the creation, therefore, the word for 'create' ברא can also be said to be "the WORD which created".

In 'bereshith' בראשית, the first word of Ge 1:1, is 'bara' ברא. So "in the beginning, was the WORD [which created].

the Word was with God

בראשית ברא אלהים Ge 1:1

The Word ברא is next to Elohim אלהים. So "The word was with God".

There is another derivation of the doctrine. Split 'bereshith' in half: created ברא six שית. God created in six days, but he also created six testimonies. [1] By formation, 'six' שית is: God's Word returned with an increase ש God י finished his work ת. 'God' is in 'six' so the Word ברא is with God י in the beginnig בראשית.

The third derivation is suggested by Jesus saying that he was before the foundation of the world, or before the beginning. [2] This is also an ancient riddle asking "Why does Ge 1:1 start with he second letter of the alphabet and not the first?"

The answer is that it starts with an invisible aleph. The invisible aleph suggests Christ glory before the beginning, and of the Trinity, as well as many other things, but it also tells how the Word was with God 'in the beginning' or in 'bereshit'.

With the aleph the first three letters of 'bereshith' are אבר. This is a contraction of אב-בר or 'father'-'son'. The word (son) is with God (the father).

the WORD was God

The WORD which created; ברא is the son 'bar' בר who created the heavens and the earth א.

  2. Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
