Small stuff matters

Until you know the meaning of every jot and tittle, you do not have a complete understanding

Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The Greek word for jot ἰῶτα has a Hebrew origin of the yud י. The yud is the smallest letter, but when any other letter is drawn, the yud is used in it's formation. It is considered the source of all the letters of the Hebrew alphabet. It represents everything that God intended to create or the very thought of creating everything.

The Greek word for tittle κεραία also has an origin in Hebrew with the sub-root 'kar' כר meaning 'cut'.

The law, as Jesus used the term applies to all the scriptures that he had at the time. It is a curious statement for those who read only the literal meaning, since how does one fulfill the story of Tamar, literally? Yet clearly seen in The Director's Bible - 017 his death, his role as the scapegoat, and his possession of the inheritance as the usurping second son were all still to be fulfilled at the time he said this.

Jesus said that not one little thing that God intended will be lost, nor will one thing be added which he has cut out of his plan until the time of the cross.

Since the very smallest letter is protected as the word of God, it must be important. If you don't know why what was left out was left out, you also don't have a complete understanding. This keeps us humble.
