Primary metaphor
The yod י , as the first thought of God to create. It can represent God who thought it, the thought itself which includes everything which was created, or in a secondary fashion as 'a' creation. As a suffix, the preceding belongs to him. It makes the word a possessive.
The first yod
Previously it was discussed that all of the letters are drawn by first drawing a yod. Therefore, the first yud is found in the invisible aleph א of Ge 1:1.
aleph א
To draw the aleph א, firt drawn the yod י in the upper left corner. God first opened a void within himself to make room for his creation. Extend the yod י as a diagonal vav ו, separating the spiritual from the earthly in the vertical, and holiness and grace in the horizontal. The vav ו represents God speaking into the void to call creation into existence. The draw two more yods י as the two creations, one each of the heavens and the earth.
The first stand-alone yod
Inside 'the beginning' bereshit בראשית , the yod retains its metaphor as "what God intended to do". By the letters, bereshit בראשית reads: A revelation to man ב. It is revealed ר that God spoke and created the heaveans and the earth א. His word did not return void ש. What he intended to do י he completed ת.
