Fish/living in the word
The Hebrew word for 'fish' is dag דג meaning 'commanded ד to pursue ג. When Adam watched the fish darting around the water, it seemed like an appropriate name.
- With water representing the word of God, it would appear that the fish is one who has been commanded to pursue, or search, the scriptures [1] [2]. The word 'fish' is not used in the dietary law. But types of animals in the water are mentioned.
