Fish/living in the word

Fish/living in the word

The Hebrew word for 'fish' is dag דג meaning 'commanded ד to pursue ג. When Adam watched the fish darting around the water, it seemed like an appropriate name.

With water representing the word of God, it would appear that the fish is one who has been commanded to pursue, or search, the scriptures [1] [2]. The word 'fish' is not used in the dietary law. But types of animals in the water are mentioned.
When 'fish' is spelled as dagah דגה it means 'to grow' or 'multiply' [3] which it does in the water (word).
  1. Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
  2. 2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
