Making it an end times prophecy then trying to understand the details of dating is backwards.

Through the ages many have not believed the eschatology you propose, and have instead seen this as being fulfilled in Christ at the Cross.

In a scriptural context: What greater tribulation than a Holy God placing himself in the hands of sinful men? He was rushed to the cross, and had the days of His tribulation not been shortened, had he been beaten to death and never made it to the cross, no flesh would have been saved.

In sensus plenior the sun is Christ in Holiness and law. As the Light, when Christ came into the world he condemned us (John 3). The sun turned to darkness indicates that Law has been changed to grace. The moon represents Christ in the flesh and "life is in the blood" and so Christ in the flesh is alive... He is risen!

And what greater day or what day more terrible than that of the cross? And what followed the cross?

Quote: Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: He who condemns a righteous man is an abomination... so Judas was an abomination. The Father left the Son on the cross, and the Son was made to be sin. What greater desolation... where is God on earth? So the kiss of Judas is the abomination that caused desolation.

When Jesus said "It is finished!" I believe it.

Pr 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

If it is literal, have you checked to see if the billions of the whole population of the world will fit into the valley of Jehoshaphat?

Quote: Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, So if the dates make it speak of the cross, it is consistent with Christian beliefs until the mid nineteenth century.
