The book of the Father

Genesis has four primary divisions by the four voices of God.

Priest: Ge 1:1-2:5 - This division is like a Table of Contents to the Book of Life. Each day is a picture of Christ which is revealed in one of seven portions of the Bible. It speaks of the work of God in a hidden language, and it speaks of the work of the Son of God in all time and eternity.
Prophet: Ge 2:6-5:32 - The highlight of this portion is the sacrifice of the lamb to cover the sin of Adam. It ends with the genealogy showing fruitfulness. The voice of the prophet always speaks of the life and mission of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
Judge: Ge 6:1-11:28 - One cannot mention Noah without thinking of the judgement of God. But judgement is not God's main focus and this section also ends with genealogies showing fruitfulness.
King: Ge 11:29-50:26 - The king is concerned with earthly affairs and indeed the focus of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the promise God made to Abraham for land. Even Joseph, who is not one of the fathers, but is a son, becomes the king of kings as he rules over all the nations.

Priest

The book of the Priest has seven divisions (seven pictures of Christ) matching the seven days of creation.

The word 'day' יום figuratively means 'a distinct picture of what God intended to do and completed through the Son of Man' or simply 'a picture of Christ'. The activities of each day appear to be sequential, but finally we discover that all seven days occurred in a single day:

Ge 2:4 ¶ These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Literally we interpret that all of creation happened outside of time. How else can seven days be one day? But figuratively we interpret that all the pictures of Christ are one picture. Rather than sequential activities, they are seven views of the work of Christ which can be seen in it's entirety by overlaying each picture upon the others like transparencies, until it is a unified whole.

Day 1 - The light Light represents the holiness of God and darkness represents his grace. The first expression of God's holiness and grace to mankind is found in the narrative of Adam and Seth.
Day 2 - The waters The pre-eminent feature of the narrative of Noah is the water.
Day 3 - The land The Fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are looking to possess the land.
Day 4 - From light As God lead Israel out of Egypt he led them by the pillar of fire and smoke. The purpose of the great lights and the pillar was to 'divide'.
Day 5 - From the waters Water represents the word of God. Nearly everyone who passed through the Red Sea died without receiving the promise. The Egyptians died immediately, and the Hebrews died in the desert. Their children possessed the land. As they crossed the Jordan, though there were setbacks, they were bathed in the word of God in order to bring life.
Day 6 - From the land The gospels tell of THE man Christ Jesus who was the express image of God. He obtained his bride.
Day 7 - The rest The fruitfulness of the man is obtained through rest in the cross. The letters share the grace of God obtained through the cross of Christ.

Abraham and Issac

(The Father and I are one)

Coming of age

Ge 11:1-6 Mankind/Israel would not acknowledge God as God and confused his word
Ge 11:7-9 So he scattered them and gave them over to their confusion
Ge 11:10-32 God silent for almost 400 years

Ge 12:6 He came to the place of his intended works (Sechem = shoulder) in order to be taught (Moreh = teacher)
Ge 12:7-8 And he took the form of two natures: The house of God in the flesh but a 'heap of ruins' (desolation/ kenosis) in the spirit.
Ge 12:9-10 As he grew, there was a great famine of the word
Ge 12:11-20 He wanted to be known as a Hebrew brother among the gentiles (think Gadarenes), not as the bridegroom and was sent away when they discovered his true position. (His bride is a prostitute/virgin)
Ge 13:1-13 Christ separated his sheep from the sheep of the flesh (goats)
Ge 13:14-17 Jesus understood in the Spirit that all the earth would be his. But he would die (be dust). But would arise and live in the land in time (length) and in faith (breadth = Rahab)
Ge 13:18 So Jesus lived as God on earth among his friends.
Ge 14:1-24 When Christ was 12 years old (his flesh and spirit went to war withing him. His flesh was weak, so he braced himself with the teachers in the temple, and put down his flesh and the fear of death. And was restored to Peace through the communion. He increased in wisdom and did not trust himself to men.
