:King: Ge 11:29-50:26 - The king is concerned with earthly affairs and indeed the focus of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the promise God made to Abraham for land. Even Joseph, who is not one of the fathers, but is a son, becomes the king of kings as he rules over all the nations.
==Priest==The Book book of the priest Priest has seven divisions (seven pictures of Christ) matching the seven days of creation.
The word 'day' יום figuratively means 'a distinct picture of what God intended to do and completed through the Son of Man' or simply 'a picture of Christ'. The activities of each day appear to be sequential, but finally we discover that all seven days occurred in a single day:
Literally we interpret that all of creation happened outside of time. How else can seven days be one day? But figuratively we interpret that all the pictures of Christ are one picture. Rather than sequential activities, they are seven views of the work of Christ which can be seen in it's entirety by overlaying each picture upon the others like transparencies, until it is a unified whole.
:Day 1 - The light and the dark Light represents the holiness of God and darkness represents his grace. The first expression of God's holiness and grace to mankind is found in the narrative of Adamand Seth.
:Day 2 - The waters The pre-eminent feature of the narrative of Noah is the water.
:Day 3 - The land The Fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are looking to possess the land.
:Day 4 - The two great lightsFrom light As God lead Israel out of Egypt he led them by the pillar of fire and smoke. The purpose of the great lights and the pillar was to 'divide'.:Day 5 - Life from From the waters Water represents the word of God. Nearly everyone who passed through the Red Sea died without receiving the promise. The Egyptians died immediately, and the Hebrews died in the desert. Their children possessed the land. As they crossed the Jordan, though there were setbacks, they were bathed in the word of God in order to bring life. :Day 6 - The day of From the manland The gospels tell of THE man Christ Jesus who was the express image of God. He obtained his bride.
:Day 7 - The rest The fruitfulness of the man is obtained through rest in the cross. The letters share the grace of God obtained through the cross of Christ.
