The 'exalted father'; Abram's name was changed to Abraham or 'Father of the sea by revelation'. The sea is used elsewhere as a metaphor for the multitudes, such as in the parable of the mustard seed. So Abraham becomes 'the Father of multitudes by revelation'.
 
We notice that 'ben David and ben Abraham' are two sons. Therefore one must represent the earthly and one represents the heavenly. Jesus was literally the king of Israel in the flesh because of the promise made to David. He is the king of the kingdom of heaven because of the promise made to Abraham.
