Parable of the Dragnet
| Mt 13:47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: | ||
| Mt 13:48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. | ||
| Mt 13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, | ||
| Mt 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. |
Hidden wisdom
The first thing to notice is that this is a parable about fishing, but he never mentions fish. If fish were mentioned they would have to represent "every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" because that what fish represent everywhere else. It would not fit the meaning of the parable, so it is avoided.
- net: רשת is made up of the last three letters of the alphabet. It means "The revelation ר that did not return void ש and the ת makes the preceding the focus or the purpose." The revelation that did not return void was fruitful because Christ made himself destitute רש which is the word consisting of the first two letter of net. It is also fun to observe that the first three letters of the alphabet אבג mean "the father אב pursued man ג and then at the end, he caught man with a net רשת."
- kind: מין In Genesis 1, before the first 'kind' was made, dry land had to appear from the sea. Dry land represents desolation, incarnation, and the death of the Son of man. The word kind מין is made up of the water מי and the death of the Son of Man ן. So those who were harvested were harvested through the death of Christ. Good and bad are two aspects of the ones harvested. This is the same teaching that we are wheat and tares, Sheep and goats, and we are good and bad.
- sever: Paul cries out "Ro 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" We must be severed/separated from it.
- furnace: There are a couple types of furnaces, one word derives from the word 'light' (representing holiness), and the other is a smelting pot.
Retelling the mystery
An example of the Kingdom of Heaven (the New Teaching of Peace) is that Christ is the Word of God, the living Torah, and he obtained a bride through his incarnation and death, concluding his pursuit of man. All the things that his word produced within him (the sea) were harvested through his death. He smelted his people and burnt up the wood, hay and stubble, keeping the precious silver and gold. His people experienced tribulation so that they could learn obedience through the things they suffered.
