- Is 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Though he was God incarnate (Is 53:2), Jesus was despised and rejected of men. He died alone on the cross as the crowds had shouted "Crucify him!".
- Mr 15:13 And they cried out again, Crucify him.
man of sorrows - מכאבות sorrows. How did God incarnate handle sorrow? The word for sorrow contains father אב with prefixes meaning 'from' and 'as'. He accepted his trials as though they were from the father.
- 1Pe 2:19 For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.
- Heb 5:8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered
aquainted with grief Grief חלי is more often translated sickness, but can be understood from the hieroglyphics as 'a lesson from life'.
