Aleph - teach

The name of the aleph א contains a lamed ל, which has the meaning of 'teaching'. This gets reflected several ways as the use of notarikon divides the word:

  • א-ל-ף God created א and taught ל the fulfillment of all prophecies/mysteries ף
א-ל-ף His name Elohim means 'God אל separated from his people ים by ignorance ה. It should be no surprise that he immediately began teaching them. But since he cannot be seen nor heard, he placed his teaching in 'the mystery hidden from the beginning'. [1]
א-לף Aaron is portrayed as the mouth of Moses [2] as a shadow of Christ being the mouthpiece of God. [3]
א(ל)ף God is often portrayed as an angry God who capriciously takes offense at every misstep people take. The name of the aleph sheds a softer light on him. The purpose of his anger is to teach us.
