Garment of leaves

Adam and Eve's works, in making garments of leaves was insufficient to cover their nakedness (representing sin) before God. They made their aprons from fig leaves. Fig also means lying; their garments teased of a covering, but it was a lie.

Leaves is the word allah עלה, that may sound familiar. It means ascend, burnt offering, and halocaust. They had made a lying allah in the flesh . They were attempting to do works to cover their sin.

This insufficiency is made clear again in how much of their nakedness was covered. They made aprons or loin clothes. God made tunics for them from skins. We can try to cover our sin by making amends, but the offense is still a stain. We require the tunics of God.
