Two יs in the Hieroglyphic are the creation of the heaven and the earth. and is represented by the diagonal ו.
Ge 1:6 ¶ And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
The waters are divided by the firmament. Though the waters themselves were not created, the firmament creates the divide and reconciles it. It is the ו between the two creations.
Ge 1:9 ¶ And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry [land] appear: and it was so.
As in Ge 1:6, two new things are created by the act of dividing.
Ge 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
From the waters came fish and birds, two new creations divided by their place of residence. See Ge 1:21 for doctrine.
