Mr 13:28 ¶ Now learn a parable of the fig [1] tree [2]; When her [3] branch is yet tender [4], and putteth forth leaves [5], ye know that summer [6] is near:

¢ § "Learn from a parable of the cross; When 'Israel' is weak, and offers the burnt offering, you know that the love of God is near." 'Her', refers to the bride since she is made to be like Christ. Mark, using the "Israel is the Son of God" hermeneutic of his time, does not yet see Christ in it.

  2. 'fig tree'S 'fig tree'

Mt 24:32 ¶ Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh:

¢ Matthew has learned that the fig tree represents Christ. He does not yet understand that all the trees in scripture refer to Christ.

Mt 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things [1], know that it is near, [even] at the doors.

¢ Com Mt 24:33

Mt 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation [1] shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

¢ Com Mt 24:34

Lu 21:29 ¶ And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

¢ Now the understanding in the church is that all tree refer to the cross and Christ. John need not expound on it since it has reached it's fullness.

Lu 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

¢ Com Lu 21:30

Lu 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things [1] come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

¢ Com Lu 21:31

  1. when ye shall see these things
